Baca was awarded the prestigious European prize and €10,000 in Germany by Dr Kalus Toper – German Minister of Urban Development. The International Urban Design Awards (IULA) recognised “urban design solutions for the challenges of dynamic population changes and shifting economies, placing emphasis on energy-efficiency and demonstrating solutions to some of the most pressing environmental challenges we face.”
London’s Olympic Park was awarded Silver with gold going to the regeneration of Bremerhaven new habour in Germany. The event was supported by Topos magazine and sponsored by Eurohypo AG, the international bank for real estate and public finance.
