Aukett slumps to £1.9m loss
UK firm Aukett Fitzroy Robinson has announced it had made a pre-tax loss of £1.9 million for the year ended September 30, 2009
Down from a profit of £2.4 million the previous year, the loss was accompanied by a fall in turnover to £15 million down from £22.6 million. The firm stated it was over the worst of the recession.
Chairman Tim Hodgson said: “To say that the group's financial year was difficult would be an understatement, starting as it did in October 2008 in the middle of a global banking crisis and ending in September 2009 with the UK and many other major economies mired in economic recession. “We expect conditions in 2010 to remain challenging in the markets we are operating. We are encouraged by the number and quality of recent appointments and the increased flow of inquiries in the last six months. This, along with the cost controls which have been implemented, the strong forward order book and the quality and strength of our professional teams and client base means we look forward to the future with confidence.”
